Private Sound Healing: What to Expect From a Session
18 September 2026

A private sound healing session is a one to one appointment, mobile to your home or held in Mudgeeraba, built around whatever you bring into the room that day rather than a fixed track or a group format. If you've only ever pictured a sound bath circle, this is the more personal, more tailored version of that same work.
What Actually Happens
We start with a short conversation, a few minutes on how you're feeling and what you're hoping for. Then you lie down, fully clothed, and I work with tuning forks and instruments around and along your body while you rest. There's nothing to prepare and nothing to get right. Most people say the hardest part was deciding to book.
The Spinal Walk
Every session, 60 or 90 minutes, opens the same way: tuning forks moved slowly along your spine, one vertebra at a time. This isn't a traditional sound healing element, it's a nervous system regulation technique I use specifically, aimed at gently supporting your craniosacral rhythm, the natural pulse of cerebrospinal fluid moving up through the spine. In many contemplative traditions, the area this fluid moves toward is associated with the third eye, the seat of intuition and inner vision. I can't promise a specific effect for any one person, every body responds differently, but many people describe an immediate wave of stillness within the first few minutes.
60 Minutes or 90: What's Actually Different
The 60-minute session covers the Spinal Walk and frequency work, tuning forks, Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, koshi chimes and gentle percussion, sequenced around what's actually in the room that day rather than a fixed playlist. Think of it as the physical and nervous system reset.
The 90-minute session includes all of that, then goes further into transpersonal work: inner child work, natal astrology and guided visualisation. Transpersonal simply means beyond our everyday, three dimensional understanding, a chance to meet yourself from somewhere wider. If you already sense something deeper wants attention, not just tension in the body, the 90-minute session is the one I'd recommend. For anyone who knows this is more than a one-off reset, a 5-session bundle is also available, since the deeper layers tend to unfold gradually rather than all at once.
What You Might Feel
Reactions vary a lot from person to person. Many people describe real physical release, tension letting go somewhere they didn't consciously realise they were holding it, alongside a sense of emotional clarity. Some notice better sleep in the days after. I want to be honest that I can't promise a specific outcome for you specifically, every nervous system responds differently, and this is a complementary wellbeing practice, not a substitute for medical or mental health care. What I can promise is presence, intention behind every choice made in the room, and space held with care.
How This Differs From a Group Sound Bath
A sound bath circle is a shared room, a small group lying down together while instruments play around everyone at once. It's a genuinely good starting point, and often the more affordable, lower-commitment way in.
A private session is built differently. There's no group to sequence around, so the instruments, the pacing and the depth of the work follow whatever you specifically bring into the room that day. For someone carrying something more particular, a specific stretch of stress, a pattern they keep circling, or simply wanting undivided attention rather than a shared field, that difference tends to matter. Neither is better, they're suited to different moments, and some people move between both depending on what a given season calls for.
Is This Religious or Spiritual?
No religion is involved. The work sits in a long tradition of using vibration and presence to support wellbeing, and the Spinal Walk specifically is my own nervous system regulation technique, not tied to any belief system. The transpersonal piece in the 90-minute session draws on broad ideas about consciousness and self reflection rather than any one tradition. You're free to take from it only what feels true for you.
Where Sessions Happen
Sessions are mobile across the Gold Coast, at your own home, or held at my space in Mudgeeraba if you'd rather come to me. If you're beyond 10km of Broadbeach, a small travel fee of $2 per kilometre applies.
If this sounds like what you're after, you can see full pricing and book a private session here, including an interactive finder if you're not sure whether the 60-minute, 90-minute or bundle is the right fit. New to sound work altogether? What is a sound bath is the gentler group-format place to start, and tuning fork therapy goes deeper into the instrument itself.
